Community has many godly families. Following the Lord’s lead, the hearts of many fathers are being turned toward their children, and the hearts of the children toward their fathers. This is to the glory of God, who Himself is our Abba Father.

Consider the personal blessings that come from a healthy family life:

• Prayers are not hindered because husbands are gentle with their wives (1 Peter 3:7; Psalm 66:18)

• We are forgiven as we forgive (Mark 11:25-26)

• We have fellowship with God as we love each other (Matthew 5:23-24; 1 John 1:6-7; 2:10)

• Children do not stumble when fathers understand them (Ephesians 6:4; Colossians 3:21; Matthew 18:6)

• Spouses avoid immorality when couples are intimate (1 Corinthians 7:3-5)

• Saints have a greater influence for the Kingdom when they raise their children to be in the faith (1 Timothy 3:1-13; Titus 1:5-9; Psalm 127:5)

• The church is healthier when its families are moral (1 Corinthians 5:1-2, 6-7, 13)

So, what can our church do to gain all the benefits of strong families? Three things come to mind: provoke good worship, promote good relationships, and provide good learning.
